My name is Marianna Clayton, founder and owner of The Mother's Nest, LLC​. I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and Registered Nurse living in the Greater New Orleans area. I'm married to my high school sweetheart of 25 years and have grown to love the south even more through the renovation of our historic home in the heart of the Garden District. I have 7 1/2 years of personal breastfeeding experience between my two littles, and have 20+ years of experience with families as a lactation consultant. Over theses past 23 years, I've served as a nurse providing well baby, neonatal intensive care, and/or breastfeeding/lactation care. I've learned just how necessary support is throughout the breastfeeding relationship. As babies grow, the breastfeeding journey is ever evolving. Therefore, to facilitate new families, I created The Mother's Nest, LLC.

My name is Emily Deger and I am a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist. I am currently pursuing my certification to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I have 8 years of personal experience with breastfeeding.
I have a B.A. in Visual Art and Psychology. I am an artist, and my two favorite mediums are painting and upcycling furniture. My passion in life, besides spending time with my family and making art, is helping families with their lactation and breastfeeding needs. Many branches led me to my pursuit of becoming a lactation consultant. I look forward to helping you take flight with your breastfeeding experience.
What we do:
We are here to help you navigate in whatever direction you choose. We offer in-home, in-office, and Telehealth lactation consultations, breastfeeding education and product demonstration when applicable, and social gatherings for breastfeeding individuals and families. It is our heart's desire to inform and provide families with the most natural, holistic, and practical approach to breastfeeding, in a safe, comfortable setting. Covid-safe protocols are in full swing with each visit. We are Covid vaccinated. So, whether we perch at your nest or ours, we're happy to assist you and your family with your breastfeeding and lactation needs.
The Mother's Nest LLC was founded in 2011 by Marianna Clayton, a Registered Nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She was later joined in 2019 by Emily Deger, a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist.
